Introducing Edgewater Supply Company, Ltd. (Great Lakes Girls): A Sister-Powered Adventure Begins Now!
Hello, Northcoast enthusiasts! Meghan and Lindsay here–sisters and Cleveland natives, and the proud founders of Edgewater Supply Company, Inc. and Great Lakes which launched Friday, March 14, 2025.
We’re beyond excited to share our journey with you, a story that’s rooted in family, nostalgia, and a newfound passion for exploring the region we call home.
I (Meghan) currently live in Stafford, Virginia, while I (Lindsay) call Cincinnati, Ohio, home. We were both born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, right on the shores of Lake Erie. Meghan’s family hopes to be transferring to western Pennsylvania soon, bringing her a little closer to the Great Lakes again. We’re both at that stage in life—grown kids, new chapters—that we’ve started to see where we grew up with fresh and curious eyes.
Our roots run deep there—our mom and Lindsay’s youngest daughter live together in our childhood home, a place we visit often to connect with family, friends and the area that shaped us. As kids, we took Lake Erie for granted, lake effect snow, freezing in the stands at Municipal Stadium to watch the Indians rain or shine (now that’s going way, way back), learning relative direction using the lake, attending various events and activities but not actually appreciating our unique geographic location. We women of the great lakes are a specific bunch, and we are spread far and wide across this region. We share a great deal in common. One of those things we have in common is–we don’t toot our own horns much, which brings us to what birthed Great Lakes Girls as an idea.
Great Lakes Girls was born over several family breakfasts at our favorite Cleveland morning spot during visits last spring. What started as a casual conversation regarding an admitted underappreciation on both of our parts for the area we grew up in began to evolve into a mission: to explore the Great Lakes region—discovering its hidden gems, charming towns, and amazing people and the small businesses they pour themselves into—and share it all with you.
Great Lakes Girls is part online store, part travel inspiration and exploration. We’re building relationships with exceptional businesses we meet along the way, offering their goods to customers across the U.S. (and eventually Canada) while blogging about our adventures and curating resources on our site to inspire you to plan your own Great Lakes escapes.
Our store is a work in progress, but it’s built on a commitment to quality. We’re sourcing unique items—think gifts, home goods, and more—perfect for women like us: moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, and friends who love gathering together (or soloing) for adventure, exploration, relaxation, or even a little peace and quiet.
We prioritize products made here in the USA/Canada, though we’ll be honest—it’s not always easy. If the best quality comes from beyond our borders, we’ll go there until we find an equal closer to home. So far, we’ve had great success connecting with makers who share our values, and we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve found.
Our launch date. March 14th marks the first supermoon of 2025—a full moon that feels like a cosmic kickoff to springtime and the planning season. It’s the perfect symbol for new beginnings, and we’re harnessing that energy to introduce Great Lakes Girls to the world. When you visit our site, we hope you’ll find treasures and stories that inspire you—whether it’s a gift for a loved one or a spark to plan your own Great Lakes getaway.
As a celebration of sisterhood, wanderlust, and the region that raised us, we’re kicking things off March 14th, under the first gorgeous supermoon of 2025 (the Crow Moon), and we’d love for you to be a part of it! Swing by our site, explore our curated collection, and let us know what you think. Here’s to new adventures—for us, and for you!
